All The Details!:
All portrait sessions are shot on location with natural light or in the studio. We can shoot in the comfort of your own home or an agreed upon outdoor location as well. It’s important to choose a time your child is happiest, keep in mind that for an outdoor session early morning light–just after sunrise–or late afternoon light–2 hours before sunset–is ideal. If we are shooting indoors, we will choose a room that has ample sunlight filtering through. All studio appointments will be scheduled with natural light in mind as well. Price includes my travel to your home or agreed upon outdoor location within 40 minute drive from Kingston NY, between 1 and 1.5 hours of shooting, digital processing, retouching and an online proofing gallery of your images.
How much!? Studio or On Location session fee is $450.00 which the session and all images downloadable, and on CD. All newborn shots are referred to Gina Ricci Photography, located at the same location. This price is PER FAMILY. Each additional family is $125.00 to be included in the same shoot. Please ask about military or Law Enforcement discount if a member of your immediate family is either. (LE is current or retired police officer, investigator, detective, etc with a state, city, local police agency).
What do I wear to my session: You can wear whatever you are comfortable in! The only thing I ask is maybe not to wear Tie Die attire. I’m not sure anyone can make that look good. I have tried. I have failed. Everything else is fair game.
Where are we?: We are located in the beautiful Hudson Valley. Our telephone number is 845-417-8744. Scheduled but running late? Please take a second and call or text J I never mind waiting as long as I know! However, please keep in mind I generally only work on weekends, and I usually run at around 5-7 sessions a day. If you are 20 minutes late, I have to still stop your session at the scheduled time so everyone else is still at their scheduled time. Most of my sessions are shot outdoors, however.
When can I see my images?: Shooting your beautiful family is the first step. For every hour of shooting, there is approximately 7-8 hours of editing afterwards. With permission, we will post teasers within a few days on our Facebook page at Tamme Stitt Photography. If that’s not ok to you, I will absolutely respect that. Your session should be completed and delivered to you within 2-3 weeks of your shoot. Respect the process, and know I enjoy editing as much as I enjoy shooting. These are not Instagram shots, and they will not be ready within an hour :-)
Why I do not shoot newborns: Sometimes a girl has to admit her limitations. For me, those limits come with newborns. I refer Gina Ricci Photography because she is what I call the Hudson Valley’s Baby Whisperer. Newborn photography is a whole other ball of talent, and Gina is amazing with newborns. What’s a mini session?: Usually a shoot under 30 minutes. I do not do them.
What else do I need to know? For me, perfectly posed is not perfect. Embracing chaos, is. Have fun with your shoot, and don't worry if your kids are being kids. That's their job and it's my job to work in between that. (Refer to why I do not do mini sessions for this very reason). YES I will get those images for you as well, but I'll do that when they are ready, not when I am. I will never ask your child to sit perfectly still and "Smile and say Cheese" because ... well ... its cheesy. I am looking for connection. Connection with the surrounding area, connection with family and the love they have for you. Also, if you love your photos, please tell me! Every one hour session is hours and hours of post work for me and Its usually backlogged. I really care about whether or not you love your images or even that you received them. You're not just another session to me and I care about what I do.
Payment: Payment is due at the time of the session. Gift Certificates are available and payment for gift certificates is due at the time of purchase, not at the time the shoot is scheduled. Please respect the expiration date on the gift certificate. Gift Certificates are valid for a year, and I am usually booked three months in advance so scheduling right away is imperative. I can no longer honor gift certificates that have expired.
